INCUBATOR PROGRESS REPORT
The Possibility Africa business incubator facility is now operational. Three incubatees are now utilizing the facility namely,
- Banart Marketing Media - This is a company that seeks to major on transit advertising and web design.
- Identity Media - This is a company deals with media production & would like to grow into TV production.
- Devine Designs –This is a Christian based children’s clothing line that will also teach biblical principles in the process.
We are also waiting for 2 or 3 others to move in by the start of May. Our PA offices are also housed at the same facility – occupying one office room.
The facility is situated about 1.5 miles from the center to Nairobi. It is a fine town house with three large rooms upstairs, a large reception area downstairs, a kitchen and a large compound. The facility is currently furnished with a basic office package for each incubatee including a work station, a computer, and access to a telephone, printer, fax machine & basic office supplies / services. The incubatees are elated that they have an avenue to transform their dreams into reality & are committed to make their business work & make profit.
Our immediate needs are to hire a caretaker (maintaining and cleaning of facility), get insurance for the facility and hire security especially for the night. These are some of the costs we had overlooked in our budgeting. It is also evident that our incubatees will beyond accessing the facility need some small loans that will boost their capital investments.
In the month of April we will be focusing on two main areas of developing this program. One, we need to jump start the mentorship process for the incubatees. They seem to be in great need for this. We will seek to reach out to local and of course international resource persons to help us in this. One way we hope to do this is connect an incubatee to any business person interested in investing in such ones. Probably these relationships can be developed online in the meantime. This is to be explored.
In addition we continue trusting God for more monetary & material resources to help us develop this facility without diverting on our other projects. We understand the need to establish this facility in the most professional way we know how. We believe that the success of it will bring forth more success, the reason why the much attention.
