Meet Sylvia Wasike – PA Staff

Posted on Aug 30, 2014

We would like you to meet a staff member that is leaving this fall, Sylvia has been serving on the Possibilities Africa staff for five years as a Programs Officer. She has been integral in working with the children’s mentorship program and has brought so much talent and joy to this team. We are sad to see her go, but wish her well in her future endeavors!

“Growing up when asked what I wanted to be, I always said, “I want to be a lawyer”. Till after high school when i met this helpless woman with a one day old baby who needed my help desperately. I responded and her gratitude simply made my heart melt. This inspired me to pursue sociology and social work in the University of Nairobi and during my internship as a third year student i volunteered with Possibilities Africa (PA). The platform PA gave me through the child mentorship program gave me an opportunity to give how to children in rural Kenya and this became my window of transforming Africa.”
